The Baby, The Savior

We all love babies, whether they are human or animals.  We like to look at them and comment on how cute they look.  Which parent or family member they most resemble.

Years ago, a very special Baby was born in Bethlehem.  No one seemed to notice at first.  Then the shepherds came to witness the event.  Angels had announced to them of a baby being born in a stable.  The Baby's bed was a manger.  They worshipped this little baby because they believed what the angels had told them.  The
baby would be the Savior of the world. Later on, wise men came to see the Child.  They brought him specials gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.  They also worshipped this special child.

This special Child grew up and started His ministry at the age of thirty.  He was crucified, buried, and rose from the grave on the third day after the crucifixion.  There were many witnesses to His resurrection.  After forty days, he went back to Heaven to prepare a place for His children.  One day, He'll come back to take His children home with Him in Heaven.

Today, there are many varied thoughts about our Lord and Savior.  Many seek him in nature, riches, and others who are famous.  Many believe he was a good teacher or prophet. Others think of Him as someone from history.  But He is so much more.

Whether you encounter Jesus as a newborn baby in a manger, or as the King of kings, the important thing is that you recognize Him as Lord and Savior.

As we celebrate Christmas, may those of us who are Christians remember to put Christ first in Christmas.  If you don't know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, my prayer is that you'll recognize Him this year not as a baby, but as your Savior.  For He is the greatest gift in history.

Merry Christmas
