Defeating The Devil In Church

Sitting in Church trying to listen to the sermon, my hearing aids were squealing big time.  Constantly.  Regardless what I did, nothing seemed to work to stop the squealing.  I almost walked out of Church due to embarrassment and knowledge that I was sure it was distracting the congregation.

But that's what the devil does.  If he can, he will use anything to distract you from hearing the Word of God.  Even if it is something useful like hearing aids.  But my amazing Church was very patient and understanding.  We're an older
Church, so there are several people who wear hearing aids. So they understood the struggle.  But I didn't hear anything but the squealing.

But it began to happen again yesterday. I had already told the pastor that if it happened again, I would go into his office where the sermon is recorded to listen.  So I sat in the office and listened.  The lesson? God gave me victory over the devil.  Even though some of the other people were dealing with the same thing, I was able to not only listen to the pastor, but I weren't the one distracting everyone else.

Sometimes we just have to make up our minds that the devil won't get the victory.  The road may be long and hard, but we don't have to give in to the devil.  We don't have to give in to temptation, whatever it might be.  The Lord gave me an answer, and I still received a blessing.

Is there something that you are struggling with?  Whatever it may be, the Lord will give the victory.  All you have to do is ask God for his help.  Are you struggling with sin, come to the Lord.  Whether you're a professing Christian or out in sin, Christ will cleanse your heart and make it whole again.
