Pride

Having accomplished something is a time of joy, pride.  It feels good to know you have done something which is felt to be important.  We all feel that
way.  Whether it be the accomplishment of learning to play an instrument, graduating from college, or advancing in your career.

But when you have achieved a particular goal for yourself and you think you did it by yourself without any help from family, friends, or most importantly, God, then your pride becomes a stumbling block.

You know the person.  They think they're more important than anyone else.  Every time you talk to that person, they make sure you know about their accomplishments.  Sooner or later, that person will come crashing down to reality.

We can't even breathe without the Lord.  He created everything and everyone.  He alone gives us the skills and abilities to be used for His glory, honor, and praise.  Too many times, though, we use those gifts from God for our own pleasure, for the purpose to brag about how good we are at achieving our goals.

It's okay to feel good about our accomplishments, but let's first give credit where it is due.  To the Lord.

If you're a Christian and have been given a gift from God, please use it for the Lord.  Use it to reach others for Christ.  If you're lost and using your talents for others to look up to you, why not let go and give your heart to Christ.  Then, you'll be able to worship the Lord your God through the talents you've been given.
